Manuka Honey
Honey keeps popping up in my searches for clear, clean and glowing skin. So, I’ve decided to have a closer look. What I found, is this amazing, relatively new, and not known to too many people Manuka honey product. Apparently, this honey can only be collected from some remote parts in New Zealand, and it is very expensive. Natural honey is highly anti-bacterial and it contains powerful healing enzymes, making it great to be applied to your skin and other bodily parts. Wherever you desire a glowing skin. Now, get a load of that, Manuka honey has been scientifically proven to have 1000 times more MGO than any other honey. Making it, some 1000 times more medicinal, healthier and anti-bacterial than any other honey on the market. Applying Manuka honey to your face in order to fight acne, may come to be the best thing you have ever done – for your face that is. Not talking career and life goals here. Dark Leafy Greens My all-time favorite green leaf is the kale, with spinach running a second close. But, not very close. So, dark leafy greens like curly kale, spinach and rainbow chard are tremendously well loaded on phytonutrients. Nutrients that are essential for fighting off wrinkles, damage to the skin, and even widened pores. You don’t have to mash those up and mix them with lemon juice and honey to apply to your face. You just need to make sure that they are present in your daily meal. You can literally not eat enough dark leafy greens, because they are so low on calories. Not to mention that they contain no fats and carbs, so you cannot gain weight from them as well. Stop waiting and load up your plate with some delicious kale, spinach and cranberries salad! Tomatoes Ahhh, good old “t’matoes”. A few people know this, but tomatoes are one of the greatest sources of lycopene. And, lycopene, is a well-known (to cosmetic industry leaders and lab rats) anti-aging antioxidant If you are looking to keep your skin clear of blemishes, and protect it against sun damage, my one million dollar advice is to include good old tomatoes into your plate. They are tasty, great for salads, easy to prepare, and easy to digest. Interestingly enough, however, is that the best way for your body to absorb all of this lycopene goodness, is when the tomatoes are cooked. So, salads may not be your first choice, even though they still remain a choice if you are too lazy. I, personally, love slow roasting tomatoes on low temperature in my oven. Please, do not use a microwave. Give your oven a chance. Slow roasted tomatoes make a great addition to any meal, meaty or not. Avocados Besides being great for decreasing your stored fat and detoxing your body, avocados are amazing for your skin as well. The fact that this fruit (yes, it is not a vegetable) is extremely rich on Vitamins C, E, potassium, magnesium and folic acid should be enough proof about the benefits it can have on your face. Cosmetic industry leaders know this, that’s why they call avocados “nature’s skin moisturizer”. If you start reading the ingredients on the beauty products that you buy, you will start noticing the predominance of avocado extracts. Eat them fresh with a spoon, or add them to your daily salads. The choice is yours. Pumpkin Seeds Zinc, zinc, zinc. It should sound in your head like ring, ring, ring. It is time you add these nutritional gems into your diet. Pumpkin seeds are very high on zinc, which is by far the most important mineral for a healthy skin texture. Research has shown that about 20 percent of the body’s zinc is stored in the skin. If you are getting acne or dry skin, might be due to the lack of zinc in your diet.
